my brother in law steve became a certified lawyer today! one of the nicest guys i know (there goes my view of lawyers being argumentitive jerks). hazel thought it was a riot taking the C-train downtown to go see the spectacle. congrats steve!

welcome home elder harker!

payton got home from his mission today!!!! watch out christmas piniata, he's back. payton is so much fun to be around, i'm excited for my kids to get to know their uncle payt because he is just a great person all around. plus now we'll be able to sample the delicacy of wild game again.

hazel would get mad if anyone helped her swim - she really wanted to do it all by herself!

hazels favorite movie at this time was tinkerbell and although she was soooo excited to see her she is so nervious to be in the presence of her idol.

hazel has a small obsession with goofy - he's not "bolt" but her favorite non princess at disneyland. look at her face!

zoo in palm desert - how do these animals survive? it was 47 C. we were dying.

we seem to go down to california every year - in fact we have gone every year since we got married (and once before). luckily ivory and brodie have been the hostests with the mostest and let us stay with them. it makes me jealous every year that we are going for a vacation where they live. probably ivory's ulterior motive letting us stay there. she wants more people to move down - it's working cuz i totally want to.

soccer mania

kyle and i get to play on a co-ed outdoor soccer team together this spring - lots of fun. it was a bit of a struggle trying to keep the kids entertained on the sidelines though.

i also got to coach hazels little soccer team on saturday mornings. also lots of fun, only had one dad lose his cool at his son's 4 yr old soccer game, sort of sad! hazel loved playing, even though she mainly chased the group of kids around that were actually kicking the ball!

spring was awesome this year, i got to go see skou play ball in edmonton a bunch. hang out with jodi and the kids. hazel, everson and boston had a blast dancing at the games and partying at the pool. i went to raymond a bunch to see kee glamed up for prom and then go down for grad and also for easter, rugby etc etc. the only thing that could of improved it is having kyle not studying and actually able to come with me on all my excursions. but alass, there was no point hanging around cuz he was too busy and i tried to tell myself that if i was having fun it was doing him a favor because he didn't have to feel bad not hanging out with us!

kyle's 28th

for kyle's birthday we had chinese food at his request, then we went home for the most divine cake ever! i got the recipe off of epicurious.com (Mascarpone-Filled Cake with Sherried Berries minus the sherry). then kyle and i got a babysitter and went longbording.

kyle got invited to go to this business gala and i got to tag along. it was fun cuz kyle had been so busy and it was a real date with like food cooked by a chef, kyle in a suit and myself in a dress, and no kids (thanx to nani and papa!) after the gala thingy we went up the calgary tower because i had never gone up it (i've been up buildings in new zeland, new york and chicago, but not calgary- of course!). ok kyle, i admit it - calgary is a cool city!
